GBAO Permits, Road Closures and Long Supply Gaps

The eastern routes cannot be planned like ordinary lake drives. Permit checks, temporary closures, border sensitivity and very limited rescue capacity can change the viability of Khorog, Bartang, Alichur, Murghab and Karakul even when the weather is stable.
